Paracord dog leash

The paracord leashes from SammyLunaDesigns are elaborately and lovingly handcrafted from a total of four extra tear-resistant nylon ropes to create a beautiful and very robust, yet lightweight dog leash . The leash is very suitable for everyday use and can be used in any weather condition.

Paracord lines are very durable and robust, have top rope quality and are worth every cent. We use military grade rope quality . For example, a 2 meter leash contains a total of 28 meters of paracord .

Thanks to the combination of up to four different rope colors, an aesthetic look is created for dog and owner. Using a special knotting and braiding technique, each paracord leash is handmade in our factory.

We let you choose your preferred line length. The standard lead length is 2m. If you want to hang the dog leash over your shoulder, we recommend a length of 240/260cm or even 300cm. (depending on body type, jacket, etc.)

Carabiner size

We equip the dog leash with a universal carabiner, which is suitable for small and large dogs up to 45kg body weight. If your dog is heavier or very large, you can optionally choose the stronger carabiner for dogs up to 75kg body weight.

Allgemeine Hinweise

- Korrekte Leinenanbringung

Das Leinenende mit dem unmittelbar nach dem Karabiner integrierten Ring gehört an die Hundeseite.

- Metallwaren

Schrauben, Karabiner, Ringe & Schnallen sind einer dauerhaften Reibung ausgesetzt. Das ist ein natürlicher Prozess und lässt sich bei Hundeleinen kaum verhindern. Unsere "Hardware" ist je nach Farbe unterschiedlich vorbehandelt und besitzen daher auch eine unterschiedliche Abriebfestigkeit. Grundsätzlich verwenden wir Metalllegierungen von sehr guter Industriequalität, welche eine sehr hohe Korrosionsbeständigkeit aufweist. (Sehr robust gegen Rostbildung). Jede eingesetzte Hardware wird vor Einsatz darauf geprüft & getestet. Welche Hardware konkret bei diesem Produkt verwendet wird, findest du weiter oben aufgelistet.

Lackierte Hardware (schwarz): Am meisten anfällig, die Lackierung kann sich auf Dauer abreiben.
Verkupferte Hardware (rose-gold): Geringe Anfälligkeit.
Vermessingte Hardware (goldener Look): Geringe Anfälligkeit.

Farbabweichungen bei der Darstellung sind möglich & abhängig von der Kalibrierung deines Displays. Wir bemühen uns die Farben so realitätsnah wie nur möglich darzustellen und haben bisher dazu nur positives Feedback erhalten.

Eine Hundeleine zählt zur Grundausstattung und wird täglich benutzt. Daher sind Gebrauchsspuren auf Dauer ein ganz normales Vorkommnis.

Bei richtiger Pflege & Anwendung halten SammyLunaDesigns-Leinen mehrere Jahre lang.

Wash/clean

If it is more dirty, the leash can be washed in the washing machine or hand washed at 30°C on a gentle cycle. To do this, use a laundry bag/laundry net so that your drum remains protected from the hard metal of the rings and carabiners.

Hand washing also works very well and is usually quicker. Simply prepare a tub/bucket with warm water and some detergent and let them bathe for 5-10 minutes. If necessary, help gently with a lint-free cloth/rag. This is even gentler & our recommendation.

Depending on the color, the paracord ropes can give off some color and contract a little during the first wash. This is completely normal and only happens the first time you wash it. Paracord leashes are generally among the more robust dog leashes.

In general, avoid:

- Water solutions containing salt (e.g. dishwasher tab)

- Fabric softener

- Aggressive cleaning agents

Allow to air dry. Avoid heating, hairdryer, dryer and strong sun immediately after washing.

Karabinerpflege

Fetten: Wir empfehlen ein regelmäßiges ölen in Abständen von ca. 6 Monaten bzw. nach intensiven Waschvorgängen. Solltest du dich überwiegend in Salzwassernähe aufhalten verkürzt sich diese Empfehlung auf kürzere Abstände nach Bedarf & örtlichen Gegebenheiten.

Reinigen: Kontrolliere nach Aufenthalten an z.B. Sandstränden den ordnungsgemäßen Verschluss des Karabiners.

Allgemein gilt: Die klassischen Bolzenkarabiner sind bekannt dafür sich gerne selbst mit Sandkörnern zu blockieren. Die Scherenkarabiner hingegen weniger. Reinige den Karabiner bei Bedarf einfach unter fließendem Wasser.

How is the paracord leash made?

Using a special braiding technique, four different ropes are laid twice and these 8 rope runs are intertwined. The rope ends are closed using a secure knotting technique.

Approximately 14m of rope is used per meter of dog leash.

Can the ropes break over time?

No - Our paracords come from the USA and partly the EU. The paracords are manufactured in US Army quality and sometimes even from the same manufacturer. Paracord ropes are already very tear-resistant as standard. The braid increases this property many times over. We can therefore rule out any tearing.

I have a special color request, how do I proceed?

If you don't like the color, we can always implement your color request. You will find a download link to our color palette in the side bar menu or in the footer of the shop. There you can look at all the paracord colors and then write to us. (WhatsApp or email)

Why does a paracord leash cost a little more?

There are several reasons for this. We do not use Chinese paracord and rely on very good quality from the USA and the EU. The leash inherently requires a lot of material that has to be processed. Therefore, producing the leash takes a little longer and requires more time. Mind you, this leash is also 100% handmade in our factory. There are also costs for marketing, logistics, shop operations and personnel.

We believe that something is only “expensive” if you don’t get adequate value in return. This paracord leash will accompany you for a long time and is individually handcrafted for you.

What is a paracord rope anyway?

A paracord consists of 32 braided threads in the rope sheath and 7 threads in the core of the rope. It is made of 100% nylon and is one of the high-quality and very tear-resistant yarns. It is also used, for example, in the parachute industry or as survival material.

Wie lange benötigt ihr für die Herstellung meiner Leine?

Da wir alle Leinen selbst per Handarbeit anfertigen und auch die zur Verfügung stehende Farbauswahl enorm hoch ist, müssen wir oft die gewünschte Farbe selbst erst beim Lieferanten bestellen. Sollten die Materialien bei uns bereits auf Lager sein, dauert es in der Regel zwischen 1-3 Werktage, andernfalls wie unter "Lieferzeiten" angegeben, bis deine Leine unsere Manufaktur verlässt.

Ich möchte gerne eine Farbe gegen eine Andere austauschen

Schreibe uns per WhatsApp oder eine E-Mail mit deinem Änderungswunsch. Da wir auf Bestellung herstellen sollte die gewünschte Änderung kein Problem darstellen.

Wir bieten auch Konfiguratoren an, dort kannst du deine Leine zu 100% selbst konfigurieren.

Welche Leinenlänge benötige ich für meinen Hund?

Das ist abhängig von deinem Trainingsziel bzw. deines persönlichen Geschmacks & der Verwendung der Leine. Bist du sehr motiviert & trainierst oft mit deinem Hund an der Leine, dann empfehlen wir eine maximale Leinenlänge von 200cm. Solltest du dir die Leine umhängen wollen, dann empfehlen wir je nach Körperbau eine Länge zwischen 240cm - 300cm. Für stark an der Leine ziehende Hunde empfehlen wir 180cm-200cm.

Deine gewünschte Leinenlänge kannst du hier nach deinen Wünschen auswählen.

Allgemein zu Leinen

Die Längen sind immer im offenen Zustand der Leine angegeben. Gemessen von Karabiner zu Karabiner.

Die Längen von Retrieverleinen sind immer ohne die Halsung der Leine zu verstehen. Der notwendige Platz für die Kopf-/Halsschlaufe wird dann noch hinzu gerechnet.

Get the dog to “stand” or “sit”.
Place a flexible tape measure at the collar point
(alternatively: cord/thread/shoelaces)

Note: Do not use the famous “two-finger buffer rule.” Make sure you measure snugly.
Read the value (or measure the length if using a cord). We recommend carrying out another test measurement.
Note the note below about adding a “feel-good buffer.”

With a tight rope collar
💡 Please do not add a buffer . We automatically manufacture your rope collar with a 2cm buffer. So just enter your measurement result.

With any other adjustable collar
You can add another 1-2cm buffer and then determine the size you need and select accordingly in the product.

If your size overlaps with another size (e.g. M and L), we recommend choosing the larger one. It is also possible to make an intermediate size. To do this, select the “larger” one in the product and write your desired intermediate size in the note field in the shopping cart.

Measure head circumference

Get the dog to “stand” or “sit”.
Place a flexible measuring tape around the widest part of the head - often directly in front of the beginning of the ears
(alternatively: rope/cord/thread/shoelace)
Tape measure tight pull
Read/mark value, carry out test measurement if necessary - round up decimal values

💡 If you use a tape measure alternative such as string, thread, shoelaces, you can then measure the marked length on the string with a ruler.
