Is your custom-made collar too tight?

We offer a remaking service for collars ordered to exact measurements that are too small due to a measurement error . Since lengthening is not possible, the collar must be completely remade.

We want to ensure that your new collar from SammyLunaDesigns fits perfectly and that you're truly satisfied with it. Since custom-made items are unfortunately non-returnable, we've come up with this service as a replacement so you don't end up with an unusable collar. Therefore, we only charge a small flat fee to cover our own costs for the new production.

The measurement error is not my fault, do I still have to pay something?

If you received the wrong size and the error was our fault – the manufacturing process – you will, of course, receive a free replacement. Please contact us via chat, email, or contact form if you have any concerns.

Please note the following information:

  • Check the measurements you receive with our printable measurement templates
  • Please reconsider whether you actually followed our measuring instructions or whether the ordered size was determined by another method.

How do I book the new production?

It's important that you 're logged in to your customer account before you can see the options here. You don't need a password for this— just your email address!

  1. During the registration process, simply enter the email address you provided when placing your order.
  2. You will now have the opportunity to view your order history on this product page and select the relevant order.
  3. Now select the product in question from your order and specify the correct size for the new collar.
  4. Now add the product "Extend collar" to your shopping cart.

Repeat steps 2) to 4) for each additional product for which you would like to use this remanufacturing service.

What happens after the order is placed?

Your order will now follow the usual process and will be processed promptly. As soon as the new collar has been made, you will receive a shipping confirmation via email. You are welcome to keep the collar that is too small and, for example, give it away or sell it—you don't have to send it back to us!

Measure correctly

Measure neck circumference

  1. Get the dog to “stand” or “sit”.
  2. Place a flexible tape measure at the collar point
    (alternatively: cord/thread/shoelaces)
  3. Pull the tape measure tightly
    Note: Do not use the famous “two-finger buffer rule.” Make sure you measure snugly.
  4. Read the value (or measure the length if using a cord). We recommend carrying out another test measurement.
  5. Note the note below about adding a “feel-good buffer.”
With a tight rope collar
💡 Please do not add a buffer . We automatically manufacture your rope collar with a 2cm buffer. So just enter your measurement result.

With any other adjustable collar
You can add another 1-2cm buffer and then determine the size you need and select accordingly in the product.
If your size overlaps with another size (e.g. M and L), we recommend choosing the larger one. It is also possible to make an intermediate size. To do this, select the “larger” one in the product and write your desired intermediate size in the note field in the shopping cart.

Measure head circumference

  1. Get the dog to “stand” or “sit”.
  2. Place a flexible measuring tape around the widest part of the head - often directly in front of the beginning of the ears
    (alternatively: rope/cord/thread/shoelace)
  3. Tape measure tight pull
  4. Read/mark value, carry out test measurement if necessary - round up decimal values

💡 If you use a tape measure alternative such as string, thread, shoelaces, you can then measure the marked length on the string with a ruler.

Linen

The lengths are always given with the leash open (measured from carabiner to carabiner).

The lengths of retriever leashes are always measured without the collar. The space required for the head/neck loop is then added.

Please use our measuring guide and do not rely on sizes from other manufacturers or collars.
